Hi My Lovelies,
Happy New Month.
I hope we have had a lovely first week in the month of August. I must say that time does go by so fast. It was only yesterday that I shared June in a nutshell and now its August already. I had promised in this post here that I would bring a few family members to share their lessons from July. I am very delighted to present to you a dear friend and creative.
Makinwa Michael @makinwa_
Makinwa is a Fashion Model, Stylist, Influencer, Building Engineer, Philantropist and Entrepreneur. He is based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is very passionate about Fashion, Art and Photography. He enjoys taking pictures and having fun. He is a creative who loves to help young aspiring models to get discovered (If you are a model, shoot your shot oh). He is a fine boy and Secretary of Sweet Boys Association, and I am always famzing him.
He runs a Styling brand @makinwa.michael and
a Foundation @akinbayofoundation where
he is passionate about giving his professional services for free in
the construction and renovation of low-cost housing, schools, etc.
So LET'S GOOOOO
Major
Accomplishments
I would say
making progress with my foundation.
Major Setback
Although the foundation got a school to work on, when posters had begun flying out the lady from the school called me
and told me there was a mistake and that some people had started working on
renovating the school. That was a huge set back for me but the good news is I got
another school and I would be working on the posters and details of the school.
What did you Read in July?
Honestly, I can't remember 😂. I read a lot of things in July but one thing I know I definitely read was How to Increase your Social Media Presence and How to Make More from Instagram.
What were you Watching ?
I watched and wasted my time on "How I met your mother". It was an interesting series anyway. But the best and biggest inspirational movie I watched was "The Last Dance". It's a story about Michael Jordan and how he worked so hard to become the M.J. we all know and love today. It was really inspirational and a MUST WATCH.
What were you Loving?
I would go with YouTube. It was way more educational than Instagram for me. I watched many educational videos and I loved the experience.
What were you Working on?
I love this question ! I would say I was working on my self. I haven't done that in months. I have also been busy working on my Foundation by trying to create a better learning environment for less privileged children. I want them to have better learning experience.
What were you Learning ?
I have been learning things like Design and Architectural softwares to increase my scope of knowledge as a Builder.
Who were you Admiring ?
Warren Buffet has my heart any day, any time. That man is a Real Estate and Business Tycoon. But above all, He is a Great Philanthropist and a man I greatly admire.
What did you Wish for ? (Did it come to Pass)
I was wishing for money and I got the money I was wishing for even though it was not exactly from the source I hoped. I was happy I at least had that request granted.
What did you
crave a lot ? ( Did you get it or Not)
Chicken and chips and No, I have not gotten it yet.
What did you Appreciate a lot ?
I was grateful for life. It is so amazing to get a new shot at every experience with every new day. If you failed yesterday, the beauty of life is that you get another shot to try again the very next day. This is very profound for me as this was the attitude I approached the month with.
Setting goals and achieving them is not easy but the best part of every process is that against all odds you hold on and reach your end goal.
What irritated you ?
Nigerian Propaganda, Traffic, The third mainland bridge repairs (When everyone was home, they could have done the repairs but they didn't and waited till everyone was back outside). Now the traffic is unbearable and I have to go to work the next day regardless of when I get home.
Who inspired you ?
1. Devan Anderson @devanondeck
He is popularly known as Devon on DECK for his fashion and tech content on Snap chat, YouTube and TikTok. He teaches social media strategy, tech and fashion lifestyle for men.
3. Wisdom Kaye @wisdm
Wisdom is a 19-year old fashionista who was featured in VOGUE for his eccentric and captivating style. He started at a very young age and rose to the top very quickly for his consistency and approach to style overall.
What are you planning for August ?
I am planning to continue work on the new school so that the environment can be conducive for the kids when they eventually resume. He says the happiness and pay he receives from doing this renovations is the joy that he gets knowing that he helped this kids get a good place to learn and helped to improve their learning experience.
Getting a dog. If you have affordable cute dogs, He is in the market.
What were you
listening to a lot ?
